ROLANDO MCCLAIN TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS AT HIS HOMETOWN (DECATUR, AL) MALL
Decatur, AL, May 26, 2010 – Gamebreaker Sports, in conjunction with ProFiles Sports, Inc. is proud to announce that Rolando McClain will be appearing at the Decatur Mall to sign autographs and meet the public for two (2) hours on June 5th, 2010. The event will take place from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm in the fountain area of the Mall. For more information, please visit www.shopdecaturmall.com.
The former Decatur High superstar went on to lead the University of Alabama to a BCS National Championship after the 2009 season. In 2009 alone, he led a defensive unit that finished 1st in the nation in total defense, allowing the fewest points per game (11.0) of any team in the country. He tallied 105 tackles during his final year in Tuscaloosa, a stat he led the team in for the 2nd consecutive season. His exploits during the undefeated season earned him the Butkus Award as the nation’s top linebacker and a unanimous selection to the AP All-American 1st Team. After his stellar campaign as a junior, he was considered a consensus top-10 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. After securing coach Nick Saban’s blessing, he elected to enter the NFL draft with a year of eligibility remaining. The Oakland Raiders selected McClain with the 8th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and McClain will don the Silver and Black of one of the league’s most storied franchises. “Rolando McClain has been as great an ambassador for The University of Alabama probably as anyone ever has in terms of how he’s represented himself, his family, the university, the state of Alabama and our team,” Saban said in January.
As is custom for these types of events, an autograph fee of $30 will apply to any item McClain signs. Memorabilia including mini-helmets, photos and other items which are specifically designed for autographs will be sold at the event for McClain to sign. In addition, fans are invited to bring their own items if purchasing an autograph. Undoubtedly, this will be one of the last chances to see Rolando before he leaves for Oakland. To date, this is his only open-to-the-public appearance scheduled in the entire state.
